“You can’t see them anymore because over the years they’ve mostly eroded away – like that one with the nose. There were lots more of them when I was a kid.”
“David!” The way she said his name was as short and sharp as the elbow that followed.
David ignored her. The kids, it seemed, were lapping it up; their wide eyes demanding more of dad’s facts.
“I know what you’re going to say,” He continued, “we thought the Pyramids were yellow? Well kids, let me tell you about global warming.”

Dear Peter,
Everyone should have a dad who tells them ridiculous stories. 😉 I had one. Great memories.
Nicely done.
Shalom,
Rochelle
Thank you!
Haha! Love to spin kids tall tales. We’ve told my son a few over the years, though we’ve been found out on every occasion so far. Great story that made me smile 🙂
A smile is all I ask for. Thank you.
My pleasure 🙂
I think all parents have been guilty of this! It made me smile.
smile/10 Excellent!
Ha, brilliant, made me chuckle.
Very kind!
Great fun. I’m impressed that he perseveres in the face of such opposition. Good for him!
Stamina. 🙂
Long may he live to tell such stories. 🙂
Quite right, thanks for reading 🙂
I like family relationships like that.

Love this comment.
Oh wait… it wasn’t about me?
This is so funny. Pyramids turned red because of climate change–brilliant dad. Lovely story.
Happens all the time in our home!
Yeah, I indeed do the eye rolling!
I love this dad! He reminds me of mine.
Sweet story, Peter. I loved the stories my dad told of his childhood, growing up, and time in the Navy. They were funny even without being made up. Good writing. 🙂 — Suzanne
