The Takeoff and Landing of Everything

โ€œI hate goodbyes. They always seem soโ€ฆ permanent.โ€

โ€œThen donโ€™t say it. There are other words. How about โ€œsee you later,โ€ or, I know, โ€œAu revoir,โ€ it literally means โ€œto the seeing again,โ€ did you know that?โ€

Maria sighed at Tim. She had a love/hate relationship with that brain of his.

Their time together had been brief, but oh so full of love and laughter. Long summer evenings on the beach โ€“ huddled around an iPad, working their way through one of those 100 greatest movies lists.

Maria took a deep breath and kissed his cheek.

โ€œHasta la vista, baby.โ€

    Dear Mr. Binks,

Thank you. I enjoyed creating this one a lot. The process of writing, editing, recording, editing and publishing in 30 minutes makes me happy. I just wish I could transition that passion to everything else I do!

Great last line and I don’t think he’ll be seeing her again.

It is hard to say goodbye. She seems to have found a good way.

  9. Alicia Jamtaas

She came up with the perfect solution.

Those dreaded airport scenes! I’ve never been good at saying goodbye and couching it in other words hasn’t helps. Touching story though.
    Best wishes,
    Rowena

I like ‘hasta luego’ – ‘See you later’ in Spanish.

i suppose it wasn’t the last goodbye. she couldn’t get enough of his silliness. she’d come back to him again and again. ๐Ÿ™‚
