Quarantine? Ha! Don’t make me laugh. I’ve been locked down since 1987, it’s nothing new to me. I’ve seen it all before.

Polio, Asian Flu, Coronawotsit. It’s all the same, dear. It’s all the same. We survived them. We’ll… I’ll get through this.

It’s been quiet, yes. Save for the radio. Jim always used to have the radio on – even when he wasn’t listening to it. Never liked the telly, mind. Said it was too noisy.

Not as noisy as that family that moved next door, I used to say to him.

He’d laugh.

But yes. It’s been quite quiet.

    Dear Peter,

A lonely existence for certain. For those of us who are introverts, it’s not as bad as it is for others. However your MC sounds bereft and isolated. Well done.

Yep and there will be more to come (viruses etc)… Some times the radio is the best company there is. The media is loving the chaos.

    Great voice to the story.

You are the only one I so enjoy listening to! Adds so much to your story.
As for Edith, she seems rather lonely… I’m wondering what happened to Jim…

  4. James McEwan says:

Poor Edith, she has been on her own for so long – like many people these days.
Loved the audio as for me it added a kind of satirical humour of acceptance of the situation in a spirited form of defiance.
