I love Deal Pier.
It doesn’t do much other than jut out into the Channel so that fishermen can cast over the edge.
It doesn’t do much other than serve as a stretch out across the water for you to get a wonderful view of Deal’s endless horizon.
It doesn’t do much other than host a fantastic cafe situated at the very end, serving delicious cups of coffee and hot chocolate to warm your hands against the easterly winds.
It doesn’t do much other than let you see the gorgeous town from another angle. Allowing you to take in a stretch of buildings that line the coastline and bend off into the smugglers’ alleyways.
It doesn’t do much other than make me smile every time it pops into view as I walk around the corner to the beach, and for that I’ll be forever grateful.
