Dave goes to Therapy

“I was running down an endless corridor. It was empty but it went on forever. The floor was sinking beneath my feet. It wasn’t quicksand, at least I don’t think it was. It was like running on ….duvets. And the walls, they seemed to be moving like one of those old-timey cartoon wheels.”

“A zoetrope.”

“Huh?”

“Never mind; please.”

“There was screaming except I couldn’t hear it. Not really. A deafening silence of screaming.”

“And you’re sure there’s nothing in your life that could be causing anxiety?”

“No, nothing. Life’s good. Oh… we did find out we’re expecting twins.”

“Congratulations.”

    Ha, ha! Twins run in my family and I was desperate to have twins the first time I was expecting. Eighteen months later, second pregnancy, I dreaded it! The gene obviously skipped past me. I love the ‘like running on duvets.’ It described it perfectly.

    I always wanted twins. My husband is an identical twin. My mother-in-law always said they kept each other happy company. Sounds lovely to me.
