Pete’s Last Order

It had been a crazy night.

The drinks had been flowing since before they even reached the pub. A few dubious looking shots before they set off, and on the train a swig or three of whatever Matt had put in a Coca Cola bottle.

Aaron had lost a shoe before 10 oโ€™clock, Greg had been sick outside an established restaurant and at some point James had fallen asleep under a table. Come midnight Sam was drawing on his own head.

At 01:17, Pete shakily sank a rum and coke. He had no idea it would be his last.

A wild night like no other. Sad ending, or is this warning to the dangers of over indulgence.

  3. Clare Hempstead

It sounds like he was lucky to last as long as he did!

Was the coke from Matt’s bottle with its mysterious ingredient I wonder!

I was reminded of the time one of my customers passed away in my pub one evening.

Lisa, sorry to contact you here but I am unable to comment on your site …. not just for FF but for everything. I’ve read other people are having trouble commenting in general. Just letting you know.

      Excuse the interruption Mr B!

Nancy I’m on a different browser now (Edge) with the new computer. I still have Mozilla and may try using that tomorrow to see if it helps. Thanks for the heads-up. So frustrating!

I’ve been having problems for weeks now, all over WP.

I just keep waiting for them to fix it, but yes, every day it something new. Today, every time I comment on the blog, not here in the feed, it tells me I already said that. But that’s better than before when it said “something went wrong”. Or worse is Lisa’s where I can’t comment at all!

Take heart, Lisa. It’s not just you. People were having problems commenting on other posts, not just yours. I believe it’s a WP thing.
