Charlotte is Defiant

“Bleugh!” Charlotte pushed the plate away in disgust.

Anna rolled her eyes. “This again?”

“I don’t like it. I’ve never liked it. It’s disgusting.” Charlotte’s tongue poked through her lips, so that mum got the message.

“But you liked it last week. In fact, you liked it so much that you asked me to get it this week. So I got it. For you.” She pushed the plate back.

Charlotte’s shoulders fell and she leaned back in her chair.

“That was tender stem,” she said, defiantly. 

“Broccoli is broccoli. You’re six.” 

Charlotte leaned forward, “Why is it more expensive then?”

    This one is so close to home for a coouple of reasons: 1) My daughter only likes the stem of the broccoli; and 2) I get SO pissed that they sell only the crown for more. Gimme the whole veggie, dammit!
