“Tetris!” Billy’s joyous call from the back of the rusty old Pinto was the 10th in the last 5 minutes.
Mum smiled.
Dad screwed up his face like a fist.
“You’ll never amount to nothin’ if you’ve constantly got your head in that poxy game,” he said into the rearview mirror.
Billy didn’t notice.
“Leave him alone, Bill. He’s happy. He’s really good at it.”
A decade, a degree and a six-figure salary later, Billy’s spatial reasoning and visualisation skills paved the way in setting up his first company “Tetromino Strategic Planning”.
He spends his weekends caring for his mum.
